Enderby Cricket Club U15 v Hinckley Amatuers on Sun 26 Apr 2009 at 10am
Enderby Cricket Club Won 7 wickets
Match report
Enderby came through a potentially difficult game because of unavailabilities with panache as Sandher and M.Jones saw the U15 home.
With U13 Chris Jones opening the bowling with pace and accuracy the Hinckley openers were under the cosh until a wayward ball hit with confidence to square leg eased the pressure.
Jones second over brought the first wicket and a second soon followed when Sandher took over from Wooley. Sandher having played in the 2`s the previous day showed his experience and bowled three maidens for 2 wickets before desperation allowed Hinckley to score of the left armers last over.
With contributions from Sam Blanksby James Whitehouse and the fast improving Mark Jones the total never was going to be unachievable.
In reply Blanksby and Wooley opened for Enderby, Wooley falling 2nd ball playing across the line to a long hop.Blanksby followed after hitting Ensor for a fine boundary he was brilliantly caught at fine leg.
This allowed Sandher and debutant James Day to start the innings off and quick running coupled with errant bowling allowed Enderby to charge to the total.
Day had a mad moment edging a high catch to third man allowing Mark Jones and Sandher to hit singles and boundaries with ease. The innings closed after just 11 overs Enderby ultimately easy winners.
Thanks must go to the Hinckley players and Manager who added two players to our fielding, they fielded with enthusiasm and showed the spirit of cricket has a chance to survive.
