Match report A cold evening spoiled a good standard of cricket from both sides at Lissamen field on Thursday evening. With both sides having new players to U13 cricket it was the experienced players that showed the way from both sides.
The fast bowling of Jones linked with the seam of Shevas saw the first 6 overs go by with sharnford on 13-2 Shevas bowling both Joe Richings and Daly.Whitehouse and Haden followed but with Scott Jorden in cracking form the score was 30 before the next wicket fell with the leg spin of Blanksby and catching of Stanyon to thank.Blanksby took another wicket in his next over leaving Sharnford on 36-4 before Sharnford got to a hard won 50 at the end of 16 overs.
With a young inexperienced side it was a tough ask knowing the capabilities of last years league champions and it proved so as Tom Richings struck with 2 wickets in his first over.That put Sharnford on the front foot and Enderbcould not recover losing 4 players to run outs and 5 bowled.Top scorer was James Whitehouse with 7 with Stanyon 3 Blanksby 2 the only batters to trouble the scorer more than once.
All in all though manager Dave Harrison was pleased the performance with 4 playersmaking there debut and 9 players who have at least 2years still to play at this age group.
