Enderby Cricket Club 1st team v Stoughton & Thurnby 2 on Sat 15 May 2010 at 2:00
Enderby Cricket Club Won

Match report After a week off after the rain @ Hinckley the week before the Enderby boys were itching to get out & go about beating & catching up leaders Stoughton & Thurnby, who survied the weather the week before.

Captain Couls won the toss 3rd on the bounce & bowled, Chris Conway opening from the top end finding the edge of the gobby Stoughton opener, only to be dropped at 1st slip, which would of made a nice start in the first over. Weaver from the bottom end started OK hitting the deck, but strugled with extras bowling 4 overs for 21, Conway carrying on at the top end for 11 overs 1 for 23 getting the earlier dropped opener. After drinks Haden & willet went about there business, Matt bowling indifferent areas keeping the batsman guessing & Haden finding the outside edge lots of times with no luck. Willet bowling 6 overs 1 for 24 & Dave 12 overs 3 for 26 good effott Dave. Johno & skipper Couls came on with Stoughton looking to push on, Johno bowling very tight 6 overs 2 for 7 kept the runs down & Couls 5 overs 1 for 36, with Conway coming back on for 1 over @ the end searching for the final wicket only to be dropped at mid off earning Mr Coughlin Le BOCKserZ. Stoughton finishing on 156 for 9

Enderby set about chasing down the target with Ben Turner & Jonny "concrete" Willett. Ben going early for 2 being caught, bringing Shipo in for his first knock of the year looking very good for a not troubled 16 but being bowled, with John now in the shower for 14 being caught @ gully 2 innings on the bounce, Coughlin & Coulson stuck in, with the cry of "easy 2" couls being ran out by a good yard maybe not so easy & Steve Coughlin yorking himself, this brought Weaver to the crease setting about the task of getting to 157 but totally losing the plot trying to smack it out of leicestershire when looking easy, a bit more thought needed by Enderby batsman chasing such a small target we made very hard work of it. Haden & R Lane seeing us through, Ice with a amazing shot to a grubber for 4 well batted you two good job with Mark "prowear" Johnstone in the toilet feeling the pressure being in next.

All in all good win with a good bowling performance far too many extras though 34 & some improving chasing small totals, shot selection & running ............................................................................................... "easy 2's" LOL

Good Win Man Of The Match RYAN "ICE" LANE - tidying keeping & batting top draw !!!!!!

thank you too Rosie our scorer & Umpire Alan "Johno" Johnson
