The league games for the 2012 season are now on the website for your perusal.

14 Jan 2012 : Friendly fixtures for 2012 published.
Fixtures for 2012 friendly are now on the website.
There are 12 fixtures at present, 10 of which are to be played in the manner of friendlies but are under a league system. These teams are ourselves Barkby United, Sileby Town, Broomleys, Stoughton and Thurnby and Leicester Ivanhoe.
For those of you who do not know who these teams are I will explain; the above teams all play or have played  in the premier league in the last two seasons and have strong junior setups. We were invited to this league because of our reputation of playing cricket the right way and promoting cricket through giving young players a chance to shine.
We have an excellent reputation around Leicestershire and were considered, because of this, to be able to compete under the development league conditions and be inaugural members.
The league has been formed by like minded clubs to promote Sunday cricket as a precursor for league cricket on Saturdays allowing younger and inexperienced players to get a game in and to play with more experienced players in a traditional way.
With this in mind there are one or two rules that all teams are required to adhere to.

These are : The league to be called The Development Sunday League.
43 overs max batting first in a 83 over game.
1 new ball to be used provided by the home team
Any reasonable ball to be used as spares
                 10 points for a win 6 for a  winning draw 4 for a losing draw and 0 for a loss.No bonus points.
There has to be a minimum of 5 junior players at U17 or below in your team.
2 Juniors to bat in the top 4.
2 Juniors or more to bowl 10 out of the first 20 overs.
Min of 20 overs for both sides to constitute a game that is interrupted by weather.
Full cricket etiquette is expected at all times.ie accept all umpire decisions. It is primarily friendly cricket remember.
Have a drink with the opposition at the end of the game ( dont just go home).
Umpires have to be properly dressed .eg Umpires coat, No phones on the field.
Teas to be provided by the home side.

Hope that s a bit clearer than mud.
Yours in cricket H.

17 Nov 2011 : Junior Section Development
Hi All

After a succesful season at senior level which we recently celebrated at our annual presentation evening, it is now time to turn our attention to our Junior section and celebrate the successes we have had during the summer. We may not have had the most successful season trophies wise but we continue to move forward as a club and this winter the club are working on putting a sound structure in place for next season and the seasons beyond to continue the sterling work of Dave Harrison over the last few years.

This new structure will be launched in the new year but we are looking for parents to get involved in both their sons or daughters teams and also to have a say on how the junior section will run in the future. We want to have one of the best junior sections in the county. Our two senior teams are now very successful and to preserve this in the long run, we need to improve our junior section and maintain this going forward.

If anybody has any ideas that they would like to see then please email Andy Moore on impsav1@yahoo.co.uk with your suggestions and we can look to see if they will benefit our club. We all know things that we would like to see improved and we want to hear them. If any parents would like to be an ambassador for their kids team then please also contact me on the above email and i will outline the role of a parent ambassador within the club. We need your help to take this club forward.

30 Sep 2011 : League cup victory
League Cup CHAMPIONS!

Enderby first team have landed the first part of what we hope will be a notable double.

The first team beat Lutterworth 2nds by 214 runs in the final of the Everards Junior Cup.

We are also on course for promotion from Division Three of the Everards County League.

John Willett and Steve Coulson put  us on course for victory with an opening partnership of 235.

Skipper Coulson was out for 89 but Willett went on to make 130 and Neil Mackey added a quickfire 42 not out as the first team rattled up a massive total of 322-5 from our 40 overs.

Lutterworth were soon in trouble in their run chase and were eventually bowled out for 118.

Opening bowlers Chris Conway and Leon Viggars took two wickets apiece and Mark Johnstone claimed three with his off-spin.

Coulson said: "We didn't expect to win that heavily. But it was hot and it's always difficult chasing a big total in those conditions."
